Edna Hallberg -(6th Grade Teacher)

Grand dame of teaching, born November 28, 1892, died at the age of 73, in October 1966. "Miss Hallberg" as she was called by her long list of students, taught in the Carrington Public school system for 41 years, retiring in the spring of 1961. During her long tenure as a teacher of the sixth grade she had missed only one-half day of school. Her dedication to her work earned her the American Legion Auxiliary's Valley forge Award for outstanding work in teaching, and in 1950 she was chosen North Dakota Teacher of the Year and represented the state in a trip to Cuba.
